AACUC Kicks Off Annual Conference with Service Project Supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
200 Supply-Filled Backpacks Support Local Children
ALPHARETTA, GA – Nearly 150 attendees of the African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) Annual Conference gathered early to participate in AACUC Cares Presented by CU4Kids and Vizo Financial, a special pre-conference community service initiative.
Together, the volunteers packed 200 backpacks filled with school supplies and hygiene kits for children receiving care at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The backpacks will help support children and families as they prepare for the new school year.
The event was made possible through the generous contributions of AACUC, Vizo Financial and the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau, reinforcing the organizations’ shared commitment to uplifting communities and advancing health and education equity.
“As both AACUC President/CEO and a proud CU4Kids National Advisory Board Member, this event represents the heart of our movement—people helping people,” said Renée Sattiewhite. “It’s about showing up boldly and compassionately to meet the needs of our communities. These small acts of service create a ripple effect that reach far beyond this conference.”
Nick Coleman, CU4Kids Program Director, added, “It was powerful to see credit union professionals come together, hands-on, to make a direct impact. We’re proud to partner with AACUC in creating moments of joy and support for the kids and families who need it most.”
AACUC Cares continues to serve as a cornerstone for the coalition’s conference kickoff, embodying AACUC’s mission to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion through meaningful action and collaboration.
