Mr. Windom, an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) and Financial Fitness Coach (FFC®), has dedicated the past seven years to serving as a Personal Financial Counselor (PFC) for the Department of Defense. In this role, he has provided financial education, advice, and counseling to members of all five military branches across more than 11 installations nationwide.

His expertise in personal finance and financial education program building has been honed through his work as a faculty member, Master Trainer, and instructor in Adult Education for NeighborWorks America. Over 153 years, he has taught a variety of subjects including Financial Fitness, Financial Capability, Effective Financial Education Delivery, Foreclosure Prevention and Loss Mitigation, Credit Counseling, Understanding Credit Reports and Credit Scoring, and Compliance with Federal and State Regulations.

Mr. Windom’s clientele is diverse, encompassing government agencies, financial institutions, corporations, small businesses, community builders, housing counselors, credit counselors, affordable housing industry professionals, real estate professionals, and lawyers. He instructs these professionals on best practices to enhance their skills and knowledge while providing instruction to community-based organizations focusing on asset building, small business development, and comprehensive financial capability and financial counseling programs for low- and moderate-income communities, immigrants, and the working poor.

As the founder and Principal of Windom Wisdom LLC, Mr. Windom offers credit union expertise, small business advice, and financial education throughout the United States on various topics. He also develops and instructs financial literacy programs for clients as needed.

Mr. Windom earned his BBA with a concentration in Accounting from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He is also a graduate of the Louisiana State University Banking School of the South in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His education includes the USDA Graduate School Executive Leadership Program (Class of 2004) and the 2021 Solar Energy Program from Southern New Hampshire University.

In his personal life, Mr. Windom enjoys basketball, travel, and meeting new people. Above all else, though, is his passion for credit unions, financial literacy, and helping others.
