Raymond White Jr. 

Raymond White Jr. serves as the Board Chairperson of FreeStar Financial Credit Union. He was elected to the position in August 2013 and has been a board member since 1999. He was first elected to the Supervisory Committee in 1993 and served as its chairperson. FreeStar Financial has $328 million in assets and operates seven branch locations in southeast Michigan. 

In 2023, Mr. White received two prestigious awards. The Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) named him their first-ever Board Member of the Year. This award recognizes a Michigan credit union board member who has demonstrated outstanding service over the past year. The Macomb County Board of Commissioners also honors valuable volunteer contributions. The Commissioners selected Mr. White as a 2023 Volunteer of the Year for the 8^th District.  In addition, FreeStar Financial was awarded the MCUL 2024 Credit Union of the Year.

Mr. White spent over 34 years with the United States Air Force Reserve. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant and later enjoyed a successful career as a business consultant. He is a lifetime member of the Air Force Association, Air Force Sergeants Association, and Disabled American Veterans. Mr. White is a graduate of Leadership Macomb XXII and volunteers on the City of Mount Clemens Cable Commission. He also serves on the Deacon Board at the Church of the Living God in Clinton Township, Michigan.
